Staten Island Advance - April 16, 2005
Bridges to Success, the Brooklyn-Staten Island 2005
Collegiate Job Fair, will be held Wednesday in the Sports and
Recreation Center of the College of Staten Island in Willowbrook.
The fair will run from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and is designed to
create network relations between students in all academic fields and
representatives from more than 90 participating companies, including
Met Life Financial Services, the FBI and T-Mobile, among many
others.
The employers are seeking candidates for full-time positions,
internships and/or summer employment.
Representatives from more than 30 graduate and professional schools
also will be in attendance.
The free event will be open to current students and recent graduates
of Brooklyn College, the College of Staten Island, St. Francis
College, St. John’s University, St. Joseph’s College and Wagner
College.
Last year, nearly 1,000 students attended the event.
“I think we are going to have a higher turnout of students this
year, but I think there will still be a lot of open positions,” said
Caryl Watkins, director of CSI’s Office of Career Placement,
Scholarships and Awards.
Students interested in attending should dress in professional
business attire and should bring plenty of copies; of their resumes
for distribution.
