

Press Secretary for Bill Clinton to Address Forum

Former Clinton administration press secretary Dee Dee Myers will
give the keynote address at a daylong leadership conference being
held Friday at the College of Staten Island.
The event, "Empowering Students, Changing Lives," runs from 9 a.m.
to 4:30 p.m. in the college's Center for the Arts.
Ms. Myers, who was the first woman and youngest person ever to serve
as White House press secretary, will speak at 3 p.m. Her topic will
be global leadership.
The Myers event is free and open to the public. Call 718-982-3088 to

Ms. Myers, who was press secretary during the first two years of
President Bill Clinton's administration, is a contributing editor to
Vanity Fair magazine and frequently provides political commentary on
NBC and MSNBC. She was also a consultant to "The West Wing."
Her latest book, "Why Women Should Rule the World," was recently
published by HarperCollins.
The conference will focus on the importance of leaders and
leadership.
It also will feature a community leadership panel with state Sen.
Diane Savino (D-North Shore/Brooklyn); Diane Arneth, executive
director of Community Health Action of Staten Island; and Debi Rose,
director of CSI's Liberty Partnerships.
The event also will offer a civic engagement fair giving
participants an opportunity to speak with local and national
organizations that are seeking volunteers.
