
Shanghai University officials visit CSI
Exchange program, established in
1985, is discussed at CUNY school

Representatives from Shanghai University yesterday
visited the College of Staten Island, Willowbrook, to discuss the
CUNY/Shanghai University Exchange Program.
The program was established in 1985 as an initiative for a faculty
and administrative exchange with Shanghai University. More than 135
people from the two universities have thus far participated.
Attending
were Li Youmei, vice president; Tao Feiya, executive vice dean,
Liberal Arts College; Jin Guanjun, associate dean, School of Film &
Television Technology; Sun Shaoyi, professor, School of Film &
Television Technology; Wu Xinxun, professor, School of Film &
Television Technology, and Zhang Shiping, section chief, Coordinator
of International Relations.
Ms. Youmei and her colleagues discussed establishing exchange
programs for faculty; seeking the possibility of launching
co-sponsored research projects; expanding the current cooperation,
and exploring new ideas for future cooperation.
Shanghai University is also a key cooperating institution in the new
CUNY China Summer Study Tour for Educators, a professional
development trip that will take place June 29 to July 22, 2006.
The tour will include visits to important historical and cultural
sites in Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Suzhou and Hong Kong, as well
as visits to several of China's great universities, including
Shanghai University, Nanjing University and the City University of
Hong Kong.
