Tee time for CSI
Staten Island, NY – April 27, 2004 - The College of Staten
Island Foundation will hold its fourth annual CSI Alumni & Friends
Golf Outing at the South Shore Country Club in Huguenot on Friday,
May 7. Breakfast and registration will begin at 7 a.m. with a
shotgun tee off following at 8 a.m. John Mazza, president of Adak
Contractors & Consultants in Annadale, is chairing the event.
Mr. Mazza has been involved with the CSI Foundation for three years,
and has served on past committees for the foundation’s previous golf
outings. He and his company are noted for volunteering their
services to various foundations such as the GRACE Foundation and
Eger Nursing Home. He is currently on the board of the North Central
Kiwanis, and was voted Kiwanian of the year for 2002-2003. The
Tottenville resident and his wife, Jodi, are the parents of three
children.
After the morning's round of golf, the event continues with
extraordinary giveaways, awards and prizes, a silent auction and
raffle drawings during a deluxe barbecue lunch. There will be a
special guest appearance by Freeman McNeil, former New York Jet
running back, and rumor has it that his former teammate, Marty
Lyons, will be present that morning to try his swing on the course.
Following lunch, there will be a silent auction with various items
up for bid provided by Unique Memorabilia. Items include autographed
photos from the casts of the Sopranos and Sex and the City, and
memorabilia signed by Jackie Robinson, Joe Torre, Rudy Guiliani, and
Derek Jeter, as well as many other items from numerous celebrities.
An auction item of note is a one-week stay in a three bedroom villa
overlooking the 10th hole of the Harbourtown Golf Links, which is
home to the Heritage of Golf PGA Tournament, in Hilton Head, South
Carolina.
The ticket price for the CSI Alumni and Friends Golf Outing is $175
and includes green fees for 18 holes of golf, use of a cart,
beverages on the course and a deluxe barbecue lunch.

athletics department, student scholarships, and student leadership
programs.
